" The Public Service Commission approve annual rate increases ranging from 2.5 percent to 8 percent Thursday for customers of New York State Electric & Gas and Rochester Gas & Electric. Through 2013, the increases are expected to generate an extra $104.2 million for NYSEG and $71.6 million for RG&E. Both utilities are owned by Iberdrola SA. The two companies petitioned for rate increases totalling $383 million. The PSC and the utilities negotiated an agreement that increases the rates by $176 million."
