As fans of Sex Education say goodbye to the hit Netflix series, which dropped its fourth and final season on September 21, a rare opportunity has arisen: the chance to own the home of protagonist Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) and his sex therapist mother, Jean (X-Files icon Gillian Anderson). The charming red-and-white Norwegian-style chalet that served as the filming location for the Milburn family’s bucolic British home has landed on the market for about $1.8 million (£1.5 million).

Built in 1912 as a salmon fishing lodge, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom abode is nestled amongst thick woods alongside the Wye Gorge in Herefordshire, England, near Wales. James Toogood of Knight Frank Bristol believes that Sex Education’s popularity gives the already unique abode an extra edge for prospective buyers. “The fact that this property is so well known only adds to the appeal of what is an incredibly rare opportunity to own a spectacular home, with exceptional views of the River Wye in a beautiful, private, woodland setting,” he says.

The house, which spans 3,100 square feet across three floors, is accessed via a long winding drive through the forest that ends in a detached timber garage and carport. A series of steps and an archway covered in honeysuckle lead up to the dwelling, which features a steeply pitched roof straight from a storybook. Per listing details, the structure last sold in 2002 and then underwent comprehensive renovations, including the addition of a large conservatory-style dining room that spills out onto a paved patio with a barbecue area and a nearby pizza oven.

Painted wood walls, hardwood floors, and numerous wood-burning stoves are found throughout the cozy dwelling. On the top floor, the primary suite features vaulted ceilings, a windowed nook to sit in, and an ensuite bathroom with a clawfoot tub. Outside, expansive decking and balconies take advantage of the home’s picturesque surroundings, boasting views of the river and surrounding woodlands.

Freddie Wright of Knight Frank Bristol holds the listing.
